Mr Roboto Ornament

Most robot gifts play it safe. The Mr Roboto Ornament does not: a hand-blown glass robot with a boxy chrome body and a face caught somewhere between menace and customer service, mouth-blown and hand-painted like every ornament we make.

The reference arrived in 1983, in a Styx concept album about a dystopia run by machines, and it was either profound or completely over the top depending on how old you were when it found you. The ratio has shifted over the decades, but the song stayed, the robot stayed, and the phrase has been said by people who never listened to Styx roughly as often as by people who did. Get this for whoever owns the album.
