Peeters Bouquet of Flowers Rectangular Frame
This lacquer frame is embellished with floral details from A Bouquet of Flowers (ca. 1612), a remarkable still life in The Met collection. Clara Peeters (Flemish, ca. 1587–after 1636) was a founding figure in the history of European still-life painting, a genre that attracted women artists who were not allowed to study nude models.
