The Cats of B. “Hap” Kliban’s imagination have been delighting children and adults since the publication ofCatin 1975. And why not? The timeless Cat, often wearing signature red tennis shoes, lives in a world of adventure that real cats, and their people, can only dream about. Kliban (American, 1935–1990) spent most of his art career in the San Francisco Bay Area.
