Romare Bearden Mecklenburg County, Sunset Limited 500 Piece Puzzle

By Romare Bearden

Romare Bearden (1911-1988) was a groundbreaking American artist celebrated for his innovative collage work and profound exploration of African-American culture. Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, he moved to Harlem, New York, during the Great Migration, where he was immersed in the rich cultural milieu of the Harlem Renaissance. He seamlessly blended photography, painting, and found objects to create intricate compositions that are both celebration and archive of the African-American experience and its reach throughout the diaspora.

Bearden is widely recognized as one of the most creative and original visual artists of the 20th century, and we are excited to partner with the Romare Bearden Foundation to offer this collection as an intimate and hands-on exploration of his incredible art.
